Latchkey kids statistics in the US show that about 14% of children ages 5 to 12 spent an average of about 1 hour alone at home after school.
The Basics of Staying Home Alone

Help prepare your child ages 9 to 11 years to stay home alone before or after school or
 for other short periods of time in this interactive program.  Topics covered include:  
entering and leaving the house, getting safely to and from school, what to do while
home alone, safe snacks, storm and emergency preparedness, internet safety,
and simple first aid.  A light snack is included.  
Class is designed for kids.  A parent tip sheet is provided in our parent corner.

Babysitting Basics
Get ready to babysit for ages 12-15 years.  Interactive program includes getting started, taking care of baby, kids ages and stages, entertaining the kids, keeping things safe, and being prepared for emergencies and first aid in this 3 hour course.  Please bring a baby doll to practice baby care skills. A light snack is included. Class is designed for kids. A parent tip sheet is included in our parent corner.

CPR for Babysitters and More......

Would you know what to do for a breathing or choking emergency if you are babysitting?  Parents value sitters that are CPR trained.


Heartsaver CPR/AED



Wed. July 12th, 6-9:30 pm

For kids 12 years and up.

Fee: $65 with Heartaver CPR/AED book

Learn adult, child, and infant CPR and how to use an AED, how to help all ages with a choking emergency.  2 year completion card received upon completion of skills testing.  Students must be able to perform cycles of chest compressions and give a return demonstration.

Kid's Activities

Edible play dough

Mix together in a large bowl:  (Make sure there are no peanut allergies)
 1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup honey

Roll into shapes and then eat!
